Delete your WhyRep account
Last updated 1 August 2026. This page is for WhyRep, the workout tracker for iOS and Android, listed on Google Play as WhyRep: Workout Tracker.
How to request deletion
Email whyrepapp@gmail.com with the subject line Delete my WhyRep account, from the email address you signed in with.
That is the whole request. You do not have to give a reason, and you do not need the app installed to send it. If you cannot email from the address you signed up with, say so in the message and include the address you did use, so the account can be identified.
You will get a reply confirming the deletion. If you have not heard back within 7 days, email again, because it means the first message did not arrive.
Before you send it
One thing is worth doing first, because it is not something account deletion can do for you:
- Cancel a WhyRep Plus subscription yourself, if you have one. Subscriptions are billed by Google Play or by Apple, not by WhyRep, so deleting your WhyRep account does not cancel them and does not stop them renewing. Cancel in the Google Play app under Payments and subscriptions, or on iOS in Settings under your name, then Subscriptions.
There is nothing else to do first. In particular, you do not need to be signed in, and you do not need to reinstall the app.
What gets deleted
- Your WhyRep account itself, and the email address, name and profile image URL held for it by our sign-in provider, Clerk.
- Any copy of your training history stored for account sync, if you ever turned that feature on. Account sync is described in the privacy policy, and it is off unless you switch it on.
- The record of whether WhyRep Plus was active for you, which is what our server uses to answer that question.
- Your waitlist email address, if you joined the waitlist on this website. Say so in the message if you want that removed as well and you are not sure whether you signed up.
What is not affected, and why
- The training data on your phone. WhyRep stores your training history on your own device, so account deletion does not reach it and does not need to. To remove it, uninstall the app. Everything the app saved goes with it.
- Your coach chat history. It is stored on your phone and is never uploaded, so the same answer applies: uninstalling removes it.
- Purchase records held by Google or Apple. Your app store keeps its own record of what you bought, under its own policy. WhyRep cannot delete those, and refunds are handled by the store rather than by us.
- Any backup your phone made. If your device backs app data up to your own Google or Apple account, that copy belongs to that account and is removed there.
What is kept, for how long, and why
After a deletion request, the only things kept are the ones there is a legal reason to keep:
- Records needed for tax and accounting, if you ever bought WhyRep Plus. These are transaction records, kept for as long as the law requires and used for nothing else.
- Crash reports already sent by the app before deletion. These hold technical diagnostics rather than training data, and they age out of our error monitor automatically rather than being kept indefinitely.
Everything else is deleted within 30 days of the request. Nothing that is kept is used to build a profile of you, and none of it is sold or shared for anyone else's marketing.
Deleting your account from inside the app
An in-app route to delete your account is being added. Until it is in a released version, the email request above is the route, and it does everything the in-app one will do.
