For lifters who take training seriously · iOS & Android

The workout tracker with an analyzer built in.

Finish a workout and know in seconds whether you actually progressed. When a lift stalls, WhyRep tells you what to change and shows you the reasoning in plain English, so you can check it instead of just trusting it. Months of training deserve more than a guess.

Bench press · flat barbell

Plateaued

This bench stall is real. Drop to 4 to 8 reps and build back to 8. Here's how we know:

Example numbers, but every step follows WhyRep’s written coaching rules, one by one.

The problem

Right now you get to pick your frustration.

Plain trackers

They remember every set and tell you nothing. Whether the plan is working, what to change when it isn't: still your homework.

Black-box AI apps

They change your program and won’t say why. An answer you can’t check looks exactly like a wrong one, so you quit and go app-shopping again.

Trust doesn’t come from a smarter-sounding app. It comes from a why you can read.

What you get

Three parts, working as one coach

Log your training

Fast set logging built for the gym floor: the weight, the reps, and how hard it felt. No watch, no ring, no extra gadgets. Your log is all WhyRep ever needs.

Know if it's working

Every session gets a straight answer per lift: progressing, flat, or slipping. When something stalls, you don't just get a red flag. You get told what to change, and you can read exactly why.

Ask the coach

Questions get plain-language answers from the same written playbook that makes every call above. And when your question isn't covered yet, the coach says so instead of making something up.

The mechanism

How it works

  1. Log your sets

The weight, the reps, and how many you had left in you. A few seconds per set, and that's everything WhyRep needs.

  2. WhyRep checks your trend

Each session gets compared with your last ones against coaching rules that were written down and approved by a person before the app ever applied them. Same numbers in, same call out, every single time. Nothing is improvised.

  3. You get the call, and the reason

Progressing or stalled, cut volume or change the exercise: every call comes with the reasoning behind it, written where you can read it and decide for yourself.

The guarantees

Built so you can check it

The rules are written down

Every call WhyRep makes comes from a written coaching playbook that existed before the app applied it. The playbook is the coach; the app just follows it, and shows you where each call came from.

The AI never freestyles your training

Your program is never made up on the spot by an AI model. The AI's only job is to explain decisions and answer your questions from what's written in the playbook.

It says “not covered yet”

When your question falls outside the playbook, the coach tells you so instead of improvising an answer. An honest "not yet" beats a confident guess.
